After following a 1-0 win over St. Michael’s in the first round on Oct. 28 with another 1-0 win over No. 12 nationally ranked Massachusetts-Lowell in Wednesday’s semifinal, the No. 21 nationally ranked and third-seeded Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team returns home to host fifth-seeded Merrimack on Saturday afternoon in the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Soccer Championship.

Already assured of a home game in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, the Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team closes out the regular season on Saturday night when they visit Merrimack. The Owls can finish second, third or fourth in the conference, depeding on results from around the league this weekend. SCSU is currently riding a nine-game unbeaten streak.

The Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team looks to fell Northeast-10 Conference leader Franklin Pierce on Wednesday night in Rindge, N.H. The Owls currently sit tied for second in the conference, five points behind the Ravens. Each team has two conference games remaining. If SCSU wins its final two games and Franklin Pierce loses its final two games, the Owls would be Northeast-10 regular season champions. Franklin Pierce is 5-0-2 on the season at Sodexho Field.

Heading into Saturday’s game, the SCSU senior class has posted a 29-7-8 record at Jess Dow Field and has led the Owls to two appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
